UCL Polish Society Presents:

Tango. A comedy written by Sławomir Mrożek. First printed in 1964, first enacted in 1965, and first published in 1973 in the second tome of "Utwory Sceniczne". Early March 2009, it will be presented by UCL Polish Society Students on the planks of the Garage Theatre. Directed by Sean Bye with the help of Michał Zdzieborski and Paulina Brzezicka. Tickets will be sold at 3 Pounds each, and there will be three showings, all in English. Everyone is welcome!

This will be a great opportunity to get in touch with members of the other Polish Societies in London, grab a glass of wine, and chat. Lecturers and Professors form various universities are also invited, so you will also get a chance to meet them during this event. Use this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, as most of us will be flying all around Poland and the world come the 12th of December.

Anyone wishing to attend Catholic Mass is welcome to do so at the same venue at 19:00.

A Long Long Time Ago, in a Venue Far Far Away...


POLISH PARTAAAAAYYYYYYYYY

The Polish Societies return to full active duty!

After years of darkness and suffering, the first event emerged. It was due to be on the Thursday, 27th of November, 2008. A date that was never to be forgotten. The venue was the historical Thirst Club, at 53 Greek Street, SOHO. A place, where the Polish Society has been before, and will return to for this event. Everyone is cordially invited, for the starting hour of 8 P.M.

Entry will be free for UCL Polish Society Members, and a token couple of quid for others.

The DJ will be none other, than the UCL Polish Society Ex-Presidente, Jay-C., Jacek Chodzko.

We ask everyone to RSVP, and make sure you come along.

So far, every event at Thirst Club has been cosmically successful, and we plan to keep it that way. The RSVP's will be via Facebook, not to clog up the mailing list.

Polish Poster Exhibition at University College London

Opening reception 17 March at 1pm in South Cloisters

University College London Polish Society is delighted to bring you a Poster Exhibition featuring some of the most acclaimed Polish poster artists. The opening reception will be held on 17th of March at 1 pm. Drinks and snacks will be served.

                                      

Moday 10th December 2007___________________________________

Polish Society would like to invite all of you to our Christmas Meeting on Monday 10th December at 5:00 in SSEES Junior Common Room (4th floor in SSEES). We will be providing some traditional food (barszcz and pierogi!!) but you are more than welcome to bring some food and drinks with you (anything would be great). Do not hesitate to bring some hard liquor.

At 7:00 we will be taking our food to Union's and Masaryk Society's 'Glasnost'  Sub Zero' event in Easy J's and the Second Floor bar in the Union. Cheap drinks, LIVE Eastern Europen and Christmas atmosphere are all guaranteed.

The final part of our Christmas night will take us to TURNMILLS where we will be joining European Society, Italian Soc, Spanish&Latin American Soc, Hellenic Soc and Model UN Society to clebrate the begining of the festive season in style:

Polish Foreign Policy and Negotiation Exercise organised by UCL Model United Nations:

Our guest this Wednesday will be Mr. Marek Orlinski, the Counsellor for the Political Department at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland. He has a wealth of experience in dealing with UN matters, in particular conflict situations, such as the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The plan for the meeting is:

1. Presentation on Polish Foreign Policy and Poland’s Role in the UN

2. Negotiation Exercise: The Security Council and Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

3. General Discussion: Effectiveness of the UN and Q&A.

Due to a very successful event in October, UCL Polish Society and Queen Mary's
Polish Society would like to proudly invite you to Polish Vodka Party at The Thirst,
Soho on Thursday 29th November.

Join us there for a celebration of St. Andrews Day with a free double shot of
vodka/double vodka mixer FOR EVERYONE!!! The musical aspect of the party
will be in the hands of our favourite duo, DJs Jay-C and Massimo Locco, who
will take you into a mad journey of progressive, funky, electro and tech-house
vibes! You'll simply get carried away in dancing the night away!

Tickets are only £3 and you can get them every afternoon, between 12-2 (starting Thursday, 22nd) in Jeremy Bentham room or South Cloisters.

AGM meeting will be held on Monday at 6pm where we will be deciding who will run our society next year. Please email in advance if you are considering running for either president or treasurer. Please join us there even if you do not want to run. Your vote counts!
